RIGHT HO JEEVES by PG Wodehouse- A Review

Look for the best possible way English Language words are put in to humor, there is very high chance that PG Woodhouse is your destination. With characters like Bertie, Jeeves, Gussie Fink Nottle, Angela, Aunt Dahlia; not to mention other tiny characters which are as diverse and strange as possible, ”Right, Ho Jeeves” no doubt has the ability to become the best comedy you have ever read.

This is how it starts.
Angela breaks her engagement to Tuppy Glossop.

Gussie is in Love with Madeline Bassett and he is too timid to speak to her.

Aunt Dahlia is anxious about the 500 pounds she loses gambling at Cannes and is worried about asking Uncle Tom money.

Bertie is expected to take care of all of them and he plans a drama at the dinner table. But unfortunately, things turn out differently and the un-tasted food upsets Aunt Dahlia’s prized chef Anatole who gives a notice.

In the meanwhile Bertie comes to know that Madeline is in love with Gussie. With this, he has got only one task at hand. Give timid Gussie enough strength to speak by giving him alcohol without his knowledge. And the Result is one of the best comedy pieces ever written. Though it generates laughter for the reader, it messes up for the characters as Madeline breaks the engagement, Gussie in retaliation proposes Angela who inturn accepts Gussie’s proposal to anger Tuppy.

Amidst this Chaos, Bertie retires offering the role to Jeeves who skillfully plays his part and ensures that Angela and Tuppy are reconciled; Gussie and Madeline are engaged; Anatole withdraws his resignation, and Uncle Tom writes Aunt Dahlia a check for 500 pounds.

After reading this amazing work, there is only one sentence I have for you. Go for it.
